On one hand, we have an explosion of data and hence a new emerging understanding of complex biological systems. Information technology is also advancing rapidly as a catalyst. On the other, translation of the big data era methodologies into accelerated drug discovery and ultimate approval is still yet to be seen. I think we are on the cusp of that turnover.
